We are happy to announce Solutions By Design (SBD) as our March Customer of the Month. SBD experienced a transformative year in 2016, receiving many awards for their field of work. Bri Wenner (CATS) spent some time talking with Andrea Ascher (SBD) about their unique story and experience with CATS.
Bri (CATS): So tell us about Solutions By Design and what you do.
Andrea (SBD): SBD is a management consulting and technology services company serving clients domestically and abroad. For over 30 years, we have delivered technically innovative, reliable, and cost-effective solutions, services, and products to our federal customers that reside within DoD Agencies, Federal Civilian Agencies, and Health Agencies.
Bri: What differentiates your company from others in the industry?
Andrea: SBD delivers real world solutions that work in real time, to solve real problems. SBD helps make cost reduction more strategic and sustainable for Federal agencies through key enablers that include: leadership alignment, conviction and accountability, transformation blueprints with actionable plans, centralized program management, communication, culture and change, and meaningful metrics.
Bri: Tell me about your role at the company.
Andrea: The talent acquisition team is a strategic business partner and helps with pricing, market research, staffing innovation, and bid/no bid decisions. My team and I work collaboratively across SBD with different stakeholders to staff active projects as well as the proposals we bid on. We have an amazing team of senior recruiters with several years of experience and diverse backgrounds/specialties providing staffing to federal agencies.
Bri: What is the best part about working for SBD?
Andrea: The best part about working for SBD is that even while experiencing exciting growth, SBD has been able to maintain its commitment to putting their people first. SBD realizes that without the right people supporting the organization, growth would not be possible. Since inception the company has kept a pulse on it’s culture and keeping that culture intact with positivity and growth opportunities.
Bri: Why did your company choose CATS?
Andrea: Our team consulted with various companies who utilize CATS and asked them about their experience. Each recruiter had worked with other various applicant tracking systems in previous companies and no one was completely satisfied with their previous experience. We signed up for a demo with CATS and took advantage of the free trial and we really liked the functionalities and ease of use.
Bri: How has CATS changed the way you work?
Andrea: CATS has enabled our Talent Acquisition team to become extremely strategically organized. We love how with just a click of a button jobs are promoted externally. The system allows us to link candidates to job openings and move them through our hiring process with ease and keep a record of our activity. When working with our business unit leaders on various projects this helps us to be able to cross pollinate candidates for different job openings.
Bri: What is your favorite feature?
Andrea: We love how CATS promotes jobs externally, it’s one less step we have to take when publicizing a new position. The system is also very user friendly for both the company and candidates.
