It is not unheard to hear the average American worker would complain, “My job got shipped off to Asia!” But hey, that’s what you get when you live in a Free Market Economy — bring the best to the table or lose out mate! Yes, manufacturing jobs, IT jobs and other Back Office Operations have been shipped off to Asia — but that definitely does not mean that the HOT JOBS aren’t here to stay in the United States. It is interesting to see that the trend of the higher paying hot jobs rest in the West, while the more “clerical” jobs end up in the east.
In the recent CFO Magazine, the following jobs were listed as the ones to look out for in the Financial Market:
1. Internal Auditor: Reports indicate that Annual Salaries went up 6.7% for companies with more than $250 Million in revenue. Applicants with an Internal-Auditor designation were especially sought after. With the recent crumbling of several financial institutions, auditing is becoming a job that many employers yearn for.
2. Hedge Fund Accountant: The percentage of the increase in pay for them was around 6.5%. Again, with the financial markets in disarray, this could go either way.
3. Senior Accountants: The average pay for a Senior Accountant with a mid-sized company rose up by 5.3 percentage.
So recruiters, act now! Look at the position of the market, with the current state of the economy, jobs at companies at PriceWaterHouseCoopers, Deloitte and other big names could be on the rise.
