As it was a candidate-driven market, 2018 was a challenging year for recruiters. This pushed them to source candidates in new, creative ways, and CATS made significant changes to its applicant tracking system to enable recruiters to succeed in their efforts. As such, it was an exciting year of growth and change for CATS. While it would be difficult to include everything that happened this year, here is an overview of our year.

CATS Statistics

We are constantly working to improve our software so that our users are able to source candidates quickly and efficiently. As part of that process, we took the time to review our applicant tracking system's analytics to better understand how our users utilize CATS. Here is a selection of those statistics we believe are of interest to our users.

Conferences

CATS had the opportunity to attend several conferences this year, including Staffing World, the National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS) Conference, and the TechServe Alliance Conference and Tradeshow. While at these conferences, we discovered new technologies, discussed evolving industry trends, and developed relationships with potential partners and customers. Check out some of the pictures from the events below.

In addition, we compiled a list of the top conferences to attend this year.

Development

The CATS development team was hard at work last year on CATS 5.0 (codenamed “Nala”) and delivered on important features that you’ve been asking for. These features included the following:

  • SMS messaging capability: You can now text contacts simply by clicking the text icon next to a contact’s phone number. For more information on the SMS messaging feature, click here.

  • Meeting Scheduler: You can quickly schedule meetings by using a custom meeting link. In addition, you can set “office hours”, which provides contacts with an elegant and effortless way to choose a meeting time based on their availability. To learn more about Meeting Scheduler, click here.

  • Browser extension: The updated browser extension now functions more smoothly, populates information more quickly and it automatically checks for duplicate information. If you would like to learn more, click here.

  • Career portal: The new portal is sleeker and has improved mobile functionality. It also parses candidate information from more sources, including LinkedIn, Dropbox and Google Drive. In addition, jobs that you create are now visible on Google for Jobs.

  • New CATS UI/UX: Inspired by user suggestions, Nala is a complete reimagining of CATS and features increased efficiency, usability and organization. (Stay posted for news about the closed beta.)

We look forward to serving you in 2019.
